Passengers aboard Flight 1702 heading for Florida were forced to evacuate through the emergency side doors after a nose gear collapse that left plumes of smoke.
No injuries have been reported and all flights departing to and from Philadelphia have been temporarily delayed, according to an airport spokesperson. Hopefully Air crash investigation team are to be reached. NTSB reports are yet to come.
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Passengers have been evacuated from US Airways flight 1702 after an aborted takeoff Thursday night at Philadelphia International Airport.
A US Airways official says the Airbus 320 was taking off for Fort Lauderdale, Florida and did get airborne, but the captain elected to to abort the takeoff for reasons unknown.
The official says the nose gear collapsed when the aircraft returned to the ground.
The official also says 149 passengers and five crew members were on board at the time of the incident.
The airport says passengers have been evacuated onto the runway and are awaiting pickup.
